New York based alternative folk singer-songwriter Lauren Mian combines modern sounds with traditional folk elements to share her experiences of life, love and all else. Through warm vocal tones, intricate acoustic guitar playing, and captivating, intimate storytelling, Lauren has made waves in the NY indie music scene with her “granola girl folk.”
Lauren has been featured in a variety of venues and festivals across NY, including notable venues such as The Bitter End, a sold out show at Mercury Lounge supporting Goldie Boutillier, The Iridium supporting Adam and the Metalhawks, Pianos, Arlene’s Grocery, and more. She was featured on New Rochelle’s 2024 Summer Sounds Concert Series, and opened up the Chill Tent Stage at the 2024 Pleasantville Music Festival. She continues to make strides in the live music scene with her debut tour, beginning this September, in support of her newest EP.
Through her accomplished folk anthem writing, Lauren was awarded with Indie Boulevard’s “Best Indie Song” of 2024 award, broke 17,000 streams alone on her song “In the Diner Where We Met,”and plans to make waves with her upcoming EP “Off Script,” which she self-wrote, recorded and produced at The Power Station NYC.
She has worked alongside influential Grammy and Emmy award winning producers like Scott Jacoby and Rob Mathes (Berklee NYC), and has fostered an ever evolving network of music makers through her time at The New School’s School of Jazz (BFA 2024) and Berklee College of Music (MA 2025) studying songwriting and production. With this, she is a skilled, conservatory-trained vocalist and guitarist, with experience in electric bass and piano.
With an accumulated 3000+ supporters across Tik Tok and Instagram, Lauren’s fan base continues to grow. She hopes to break into the sync world with her latest EP, as well as continuing to collaborate with other artists and producers.
